Meet the team

Veryplants is the team behind Molly's soilless potting mixes. Founded by Thomas Clegg and Jordan Socran in Montreal in 2020, we formulate, supply, and support plant-specific growing media for plant owners and retail partners across the United States and Canada.

Thomas co-founded Veryplants in 2020 and led the company's transition from a rare tropicals retailer into a specialized growing-media business in 2023.

Today, he leads operations, supply chain, manufacturing, fulfillment, finance, and technology across the US and Canada, building the systems and infrastructure required to scale Veryplants.

Before Veryplants, Thomas spent a decade in multi-location retail operations, including helping scale a Canadian repair chain from six locations to fifty. He also writes many of the plant-care guides on this site.

Jordan Socran

Co-Founder, Chief Commercial Officer With Veryplants since 2020

Jordan co-founded Veryplants in 2020 and developed the original Molly's formulations, initially mixing and testing them by hand on plants in the company's Montreal shop.

Today, he leads growth across retail, distribution, product development, and strategic partnerships, with a focus on expanding Molly's into independent garden centers and retail networks across North America. He also works on brand positioning and the commercial strategy behind where Veryplants grows next.

Robert opens new retail doors for Veryplants, bringing independent garden centers, plant shops, and buyers into the stockist network and helping them get the range right for their customers. He also holds black belts in several martial arts.

Michael looks after the retail accounts once they are open: orders, shipments, and the questions in between, so a shop always knows where its stock is and when the next pallet lands. Away from work he DJs and coaches football.

Roxxette is usually the first person you reach when you write to us. She handles orders, questions, and the where-is-my-parcel messages, and she is the one who works out what is actually going on before pointing you at the right answer. She joined in 2025.

Cassidy makes the content on our Instagram and TikTok and looks after the community around it, answering questions and finding the growers worth hearing from. She works remotely from Pennsylvania, and away from work she is usually reading, hiking, at a concert, or outnumbered by her four pets.

Built to scale

Veryplants operates with a lean, distributed team, documented production specifications, supplier quality standards, batch testing, and fulfillment partners across the United States and Canada.

Founded
2020 in Montreal, Quebec, as a rare tropicals shop. Full time on soilless potting mixes since January 2023.
Range
Three blends: Molly's Aroid Mix, Molly's Orchid Mix, and Molly's Succulent Mix, each formulated for a different plant family.
Channels
Direct at veryplants.com and veryplants.ca, on Amazon, on Etsy in the US and Canada, and on Walmart in the US and Canada.
Wholesale
Retailers order at wholesale.veryplants.com or through Faire Direct (US and Canada), and independent garden centers, plant shops, and distributors across the US and Canada carry the mixes.
Fulfillment
US orders ship from a US warehouse and Canadian orders ship from Canada, so neither side waits on a border.
Quality
Every blend is made to a written specification, ingredients are sourced from suppliers screened on consistency and particle size, and production runs are batch-tested in a clean, indoor warehouse environment. As part of quality control, every bag is inspected and packed by hand before it ships.
