Soilless potting mix FAQ

Which Molly’s mix do I need for my plant?
Match the mix to the plant’s native root environment. Aroids and tropical foliage (Monstera, Philodendron, Pothos) want the chunky, humidity-holding Aroid Mix. Succulents, cacti, and bonsai want the gritty, fast-draining Succulent & Cactus Mix. Orchids want the bark-based Orchid Mix.
Are these mixes really soil-free?
Yes. They are built from mineral and organic components like bark, pumice, lava rock, perlite, coco coir, and charcoal, with no garden soil and no peat-heavy base. That is what avoids the compaction and the persistently damp conditions that container plants run into in regular potting soil.
Can I use one mix for all my houseplants?
Not ideally. Aroids, succulents, and orchids need very different drainage and moisture profiles. Using the wrong mix is the most common reason container plants struggle. The table above maps each plant group to the right mix.
Where are they made and what does shipping cost?
All Molly’s mixes are made in the USA and ship in heat-sealed resealable bags. Shipping is free on orders over $100.
